Katy Cirne, BA
Audio Technician
Technical and Production Manager
From a young age I have been obsessed with sound. Producing it, controlling it, capturing it and manipulating it. That passion lead me into the performing arts, starting in live sound when I was a teenager. I then went on to study Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology at the Colchester Institute, continuing on to achieve my BA Hons in Technical Theatre at University Centre Colchester, using my final years to specialise in sound.

Since graduating I have been working in sound for live events within a well established regional theatre, starting as a Junior Technician and working my way up to Senior Technician - Sound (aka head of sound). In those four years I continued to develop my practical skills across live and recorded sound, lighting and stage, which led me to becoming the Technical and Production Manager at The Colchester Arts Centre.

My ambition is to continue with my passion for sound and live events and try bring more diversity into the industry through outreach and workshops.
