Blur Warm Up Show - Colchester Arts Centre
- Led multiple site visits with Blur technical team, including a showcase of our PA system.
- Communicated with Blur Production Manager and FOH engineer to ensure all technical elements were covered
- Booked equipment hire with outside companies
- Scheduled all in house crew, including specialised freelancers
- Liaised with local council and local law enforcement to ensure road closure and safety plans are in place
- Created security plans and met with security company to ensure safety of the audience, band members and staff from load in to load out
- Lead in house crew on the day to ensure Blur team had all the support they needed
- Communicated with Blur Production Manager and Stage Manager on the day to ensure they had all the answers to any questions that came up and made venue related decisions
- Communicated and delegated clearly on the day with both visiting team and in house team
- Completed all relevant risk assessments and health and safety documentation
- Created and maintained equipment lists
Freedom Road Street Party - Church Street, Colchester Arts Centre
- Led Production Meetings with various departments in the lead up to the event
- Communicated with artists to discuss technical requirements and disseminated on the day info and instructions
- Communicated with caterer to discuss menu and logistics
- Booked and communicated with various hire companies for furniture, glass ware and silver ware.
- Schedule the on the day team to set up all furniture and outside tents/gazebos and run the technical elements inside the venue and outside in the street party
- Ensured the correct paper work was needed for the road closure
- Created all relevant safety documentation and security plans
- Completed all relevant risk assessments
- Lead the team on the day for the outside set up and delegated the inside set up to my Deputy Production Manager with regular check ins throughout the day

Russel Kane - St Botolphs Priory Ruins

Diwali Event - Colchester Arts Centre

Matt Forde - First Site
- Communicated with tour manager to ensure all technical elements and access elements are met

- Worked with venue crew to fix any issues that came up during sound check

Classic Horror Screening with live Organ performance - St Leonards Church + Harwich Church
- Site visit with venue staff and in house staff
- Communicated with the artist to ensure technical elements can be met
- Created and maintained equipment list
- Venue had limited resources and power so had to come up with and organise solutions
- Scheduled the technical staff
- Organised van hire and was the driver for the equipment
Arthur Brown - Colchester Arts Centre
- Communicated with AB team and created safety documents, especially for the fire helmet section of the show
- Scheduled the team on the day
- Created the schedule, including time to block the fire element of the show and ensure safety of Arthur Brown and staff
- Was also the FOH sound engineer
Outside hire of technical equipment - Various venues
- Discuss with hirer their creative vision for their event (such as conferences, weddings, parties etc)
- Create technical draft of the event
- Attend various site visits
- Create equipment lists for the hires
- PAT test equipment that needs a more up to date certificate for certain venues
- Organise with hirer the delivery and collection of equipment
- Schedule crew to go with the equipment if appropriate
- Produce quotes for the hirer
Mick Fest - Annual Festival at Colchester Arts Centre
- Have production meetings with the organiser
- Discuss technical requirements with each band/performer (sometimes up to 10 different bands/performers)
- Create patch list for the quick turn overs
- Schedule the crew, with ample room for breaks even with such a packed line up
- Organise the technical elements for the show (we have technical freedom with this event so we tend to go above and beyond, using the show to experiment with new technology or new experimental processes for old equipment)
- Manage the team and schedule so we stay on track
Various Live Music Performances - Castle Park, St Leonards Church, First Site + many more

ANY MANY, MANY MORE... I have always taken on the lead technical contact since I started working professionally, so naturally seem to fall into the Production Manager/Project Manager role before that was my official job title.

Theatre Refit Post Refurbishment
Senior Technician
Refitting The Mercury Theatre post refurbishment in 2020-2021.
This included:
- Servicing and reinstalling legacy equipment.
- Learning and installing new equipment.
- Cleaning and maintaining the theatre space back to its original condition.
- Installing theatre seating.
- Creating new plans and paperwork for all new patch panels and racks.
- Re-timing the theatres sound system to the new space.
- Getting quotes, ordering and installing new equipment.
- Building and running in power and data cables for legacy equipment.

MAAF GET OUT
Senior Technician (Sound)
The taking down and apart of the technical infrastructure and site of the Mercury At Abbey Field venue (a temporary venue during The Mercury Theatres capital project).
Leading the sound department and then helping lead the entire team with the get out of MAAF.
MAAF FIT UP
Senior Technician (Sound)
Planning, preparing and then building of the site and technical infrastructure of the Mercury At Abbey Field venue (a temporary venue during The Mercury Theatres capital project).
Leading the sound department to install all of the sound infrastructure, backstage, on stage and front of house.
Capturing Sound for TV/Film
Audio Technician
Capturing and editing sound for use in short films and promotional videos.
Working on projects such as:
- Global Football Group (promotional video outlining what the company did)
- Mercury Theatre (worked alongside film crews the capture sound for performances and promotional videos)
- Channel 4 (worked with the Audio Technician from Undateables to co-ordinate radio frequencies and capture sound from The Mercury Theatres special production of Cinderella at MAAF)
- Mersea Island Council (recorded and edited their public meetings)

Mercury Theatre DECANT

During The Mercury Theatres Capital Project, the theatre needed to be stripped down so that the theatre could undergo redevelopment.
This involved stripping the theatre of all technical aspects, de-rigging installed speakers, data runs, stage rigging and masking.
